Commercial Boat Services was established in 1995 to provide assistance to individuals or organisations with access to the marine environment through our range of craft and our qualified Master Mariners and crew.  We specialise in the inland environment where we have great experience with fast flowing rivers and estuaries and where access is normally difficult.  We also act as contractors to British Waterways are familiar with the sensitive nature of the canal network.

We have a boatyard and drydock facilities in Chester and also a boatyard & slipway facilities (up to 60 tonnes) in York. We undertake construction and repair of all types of craft, specialising in steel fabrications.

Our list of services include:

• Advise and consult on access and technical marine issues including risk assessments and method statements
• Provide certified staff at short notice
• Hire of a comprehensive fleet of craft from small boats to working platforms
• To supply safety boats or support boats with certified staff
• To supply or hire all types of marine safety equipment
• To supply mini tugs for pushing, pulling and standing by
• To carry out tactical dredging from our platforms
• To engage in all types of weed and debris removal
• Provide boats for hydro graphic survey work
• To provide boats for the carriage of passengers
• To provide certified training

Commercial Boats Services are licensed by the MCA and are approved suppliers to British Waterways, are members of the National Workboat Association and are registered with Achilles safety standards organisation
